Fairie Tale's End (presently(:
Ul'teah, recently is instable fromt he absence of Zahck'ra from his life, blindly trying to raid the Wanderers Palace he got himself gravely injured only to be miraculously saved by his mentor of the White, Master Runefrost. Currently he tries to regain his strength while dismissing the false promise of a mercenary, S'demyx Tia from his life. He lies in wait trying to understand what Lalia, the Faerie of the Night has for him within her memory to share, what did his mother seek in there? Currently he rests in Limsa Lominsa awaiting his next task.
Background: Ul’teah grew up as one of the Drake Viper clan, forged together by Seekers of the Sun from the Drake and Viper clans who wandered the plains of Thanalan together after settlements and hunting grounds began to overpopulate.
“Your Aether isn’t like theirs, it’s like mine Ul’teah… you are different, my son.”
Ul’teah never saw necessarily eye to eye with his father and fellow clan members, many of them seen fit to learn the art of Conjury to grow crops and attract wildlife for food/materials, Ul’teah unlike the others struggled with such application of it, unable to fully master the powers naturally like the other Ul’ members, however that was soon to change when he turned 16, his father was gravely injured when hunting a difficult target, and was near death, Ul’teah rushed to his side, in tears he tried his hardest to save his father with simple cure magic but instead began to cast another spell, one which sacrificed his own Aether to heal his fathers wounds rapidly, it was a miracle, a new found talent.
News of Ul’teahs gift to heal had got about, visitors from other clans began to appear and people even seeked to be taught, but without much knowledge of how he harnessed it, it was to no avail, more and more he began to slumber and eventually became weak.
“maybe one day I'll finally find you.. I'll be your Ul'teah..”
One visitor, was different, he was of such contrast to Ul’teah, he visited him in the black of night, a keeper of the moon named Zahck’ra, a boy with no surname who quickly gained the trust and friendship of Ul’ as the two shared more between them than they realised, but could do everything the other couldn’t, one destroyed, the other mended. Not long after meeting the two made a promise to make Eorzea a better place and decided to take on the last name of Frostheart, those who embrace the cold of Eorzea.
“their is a extra fluffy moogle who wears the cutest hat who flies to our clan encampment named Mog-Mog, he mentions he visits Ul'dahs adventurers guild to send our leve requests to them, h-he.. should know me!". Ul' grinned, hopeful, as he looked up to the stars.
Ul’ kept in touch with Zahck’ra through the moogle mail service, his friend Mog-Mog used to love hearing of the stories between the two, and was one of Ul’s closest friends. One day Ul’teah had healed a deep axe wound of a Highlander who was found in the plains nearby the settlement, many of the clan were suspicious to a bag of explosives and other concealed weapons he was carrying, but decided to help him to gain information, however Ul’teah passed out, at the worst of times.
“This.. this is all my fault..”
Ul’teah awoke, the camp was ablaze, all the cultivated crops and plant life burning before his eyes which were now widened in shock, seeing his clan members who defied the bandits who appeared to have caused it, were slain on the spot, others were taken as slaves, dragged away as if nothing but a tool, Ul’teah began to stumble outside of his fathers Settlement, tears beginning to form in his eyes, as a rather tall highlander, who was dressed and decorated more than the other bandits appeared. Ul’teahs father Ul’tah appeared standing between the two before shouting:
“YOU ARE HERE FOR THE BOY?! I won’t let you take him! Ul’teah run please… RUN!” He tried to hold the bandit leader back before being stabbed by the scimitar he was holding, Ul’tah fell to the floor coughing before whispering his apologies to Ul’teah and his wife before passing away.
Ul’teah fell to his knees trying to surge as much healing as he could to save his father, only causing him to cough up blood due to how weak a state he was in, he shook his head, just wishing their was something he could do, anything, so he looked up to the stars holding his locket, begging Zahck’ra to come and find him, as the bandit leader laughed at the boys desperate behaviour.
“Ah.. the pink haired one, judging by your posture and that magic glow in your eyes, you must be the one who can heal? Ahaha.. You will make a fine addition, and you look the part too..” he said after cackling with an eerie grin.
Ul’teah, tried his hardest to yell for Zahck’ra, but had lost so much of his energy he had lost his voice, only now able to cough, the leader grabbed Ul’teah and sleeper holded him to knock him unconscious
“With you boy, we can finally show them, we matter too!”
Ul’teah Awoke weeks later in a settlement, and lived days on end working for said bandits, abused and used for his abilities, losing respect for himself and motivation as each passing day went by, the bandits slowly became more recognised throughout the land of Eorzea due to their increased success rate of their crimes thanks to Ul’teahs abilities. It appeared they were mostly driven by their urge to survive, pushed out of society and perhaps pressured into such a lifestyle due to the scars of war, Ul’teah, being isolated from the capitals never quite knew enough to quite understand.
“I’ve failed you mother, I’m everything I hate… Is this truly m-my.. fate?”
The mysterious disappearance of the Pink Haired boy, aroused suspicion, and it wasn’t long before the news spread and Zahck’ra and Ul’s friend Drilliendi heard the news and began searching for him.
“…”
Aching and hurt one day, Ul’teah was shaking violently with struggle trying to heal the injured bandits who had come back from a failed looting skirmish planned in Gridania, unable to heal anymore and about to fall from his knees and pass out, tears of misery rolling down his cheeks he fell back and felt someone wearing hempen, as he slowly opened his eyes, a dark cloaked figure towered over him, leaning down and lifting Ul’teahs weak and limp body in his arms.
“You c-c-came for me… I’m.. saved…”
Deaf and short-visioned as he was carried by the figure, Ul’teah was thrown into a river, and woke up on the coast of La Noscea nearby Limsa Lominsa, he was found and taken, passing out in the meantime, eventually awakening in an inn with a moogle at the window holding a letter from “Frostheart”. It contained an invitation to the Adventurers guild, to use his unique powers for himself, to learn how to use it and make his lost clan proud for the better future of Eorzea.
Ul’teah now remains speechless and shy, unconfident and gullible due to his past, looking for a reason to fight, looking for forgiveness from his clan and brother, Ul’teah has a lot to understand, but yet does he know, he will develop into a confident and trustworthy leader who cherishes those close to him, with friends he could never replace in his lifetime.
Family and Clan members Ul’teah also had a brother he was close to, nobody knew where Ul’eski had ran off to, many within the tribe began to know him as Eski, assuming he had abandoned their way and no longer carried the clans name. Eski, never was interested in the art of Conjury, his father and clan never showing much interest in him, he preferred causing trouble and enjoying life in a more carefree nature, when Ul’teahs gift of healing was discovered he had become as if ignored, Ul’teah still blames himself for Eski’s disappearance, and unlike the other clan members respects his choice to leave the clan.
Ul’teahs mother was actually a Keeper of the Moon who studied as a Disciple of Magic known as Arcanists, she disappeared, having fell ill after giving birth to Ul’teah, but entrusted to him a locket with a moon and stars engraved onto it and a tome containing many mysterious shapes that Ul’teah has never quite understood. She was known to sing him a lullaby which is engraved now into his heart (Unforgettable) and told him how much of a gift he was to her and how much she loved him. Ul’teah never quite loved his father like his mother, there were many minor reasons behind this
It is unknown where most of the remaining members of the Ul’ clan reside, it is said most returned to the Drake and Viper settlements after the bandit raid. Others had died from lack of care to their essential needs when residing with the bandits, it is thought by Ul’ he is a sole survivor of the Drake Viper clan.
